Interventional Cardiology 

Dr.  Ankur  Phatarpekar is one of the topmost Consultant Interventional Cardiologists in the city who is skilled in doing complex cardiovascular interventions withcutting edge technology.

Being an expert in angioplasty Dr. Phatarpekar performs multiple high technology procedures like left main stenting, bifurcation stenting, and is also using Rotablation during angioplasty. It is a novel technique used to treat calcified atheromatous lesions in coronaries.

He performs Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), a minimally invasive novel therapy for aortic stenosis. He is also an expert in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), a modern technique of high resolution intra-coronary imaging using infrared light which allows better therapeutic interventions.

Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy (CRT), in which a pacemaker is inserted into the heart to help the heart with maintaining the correct rhythm is an intervention mainly aimed at treating cardiac arrhythmias. Dr. Ankur is one of the few cardiologists in the city performing CRT. These are some of the procedures which need very high degree of skill and are performed by very few experts in cardiology, and Dr. Phatarpekar is one of them. He is working as a proctor at Meril Life Sciences for TAVI, Abbott Laboratories for OCT, and Boston Scientific for Rotablation. Dr. Phatarpekar further contributes to the field promoting these technologies for better therapeutic outcome and training the budding cardiologists all over the country on these complex procedures
